Competency Five

This competency focuses on applying positive behavioral supports and interventions to address student and classroom management needs (PBIS). 

Reflection: This Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports poster, provided here both in a image and as a clearer pdf download, was created by me for one of the independent modules. 

The poster synthesizes some of the important information I have learned about behavior management.  I included some explanations about PBIS and some tips for including PBIS into your classroom. 

I learned a lot of classroom management techniques that I can use in the future. I have found that students crave routine and positive interactions with teachers. The more we can provide a structured, positive, and fun environment for students the more likely we will be able to teach them the content we need them to learn.

I feel confident that this poster encapsulates what I have learned about PBIS.
